In September of this year the World Apheresis Association held the 17th International
Congress in Istanbul. This was a long-awaited meeting with the last meeting being
held in 2016 in Paris. The previously scheduled meeting for 2020 in Istanbul was postponed
due to the Covid pandemic and so it was with great enthusiasm that we met, in person,
for the first time in many years, in the amazing city of Istanbul from September 14–17
this past year. More than four hundred people were registered at the meeting representing
thirty one countries from around the world and the opportunity for exchanging information
on her international scale was welcomed and enjoyed by all.
