September 2022, finally, six years after the Paris Meeting in 2016, the World Apheresis
Association (WAA) was able to organize a scientific meeting again. Generally, the
WAA hosts usually in partnership with one or more member societies a scientific and
educational congress every two calendar years. However, the meeting in 2018 was cancelled
because of organizational reasons and the planned meeting in 2020 in Istanbul had
to be postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, the scientific committee
succeeded in composing an interesting program with state of the art educational and
scientific themes, brought by excellent internationally well-known presenters.
